Affiliates and Referral Discounts

Web Widgets' affiliate programme is great if you're interested in promoting website builder products and services, which in turn will provide you with an additional ongoing passive income stream.

This is perfect for web designers who want to bill their customer for website design services, but deliver their customers a leading edge content management and ecommerce system, plus have the benefit of earning commissions. Even if you are not a website designer, you might still like to bill your customers for helping them make their own website. 

Or you might have a popular website, and just want to refer customers and let them build their own website, while earning that desireable affiliate commission income.   

Earn 20% commission ongoing

For each and every customer you refer to us, you will receive a 20% commission ongoing, based on the lower of either their hosting plan or yours. You earn commissions on live websites only.  

There are no contracts and no setup fees. The only requirement is that you have a website hosted with us. No problem if you already have a website hosted elsewhere, just refer 5 friends and you can have a free placeholder website and then earn commissions from that point onwards.

How do i become an affiliate?

1. Login or signup for a free trial website to create your account
2. Look for the link in the top right hand corner of the welcome screen. This will take you to the affiliate section. It is also available under the "More" left menu tab
3. Copy and paste the link, and use as you like on your own website.
4. Login from time to time and check your affiliate section to see customers who have used your affiliate link. You can even help them build their website.

When do i get paid?

Commissions are calculated automatically and applied to your account, discounting any current web hosting plan you are on. You will only see these commissions applied if you have a currently live website yourself.

If you don't have a live website already, then once you have referred 5 customers, you will be essentially entitled to a free website. eg your potential commissions will equal a standard hosting fee. At that stage, just contact us to make your website live, and no fees will be payable. You can see the status of your referrals in the affiliate section.

Once you have referred more than 5 websites, then your commissions will exceed your hosting fees, and we can pay you when your balance reaches more than $100.

Why do i have to have a live website or 5 referrals before earning a commission?

Otherwise everyone could just become an affiliate and get a 20% price reduction on their first website. Our affiliate structure also ensures that affiliates who refer affiliates will continue to get their own 20% entitlement from each affiliate referral in the chain.

How it works:

• We will offer a 20% rebate on your referred customers' hosting fees. 
• The rebate is applied automatically every time the referred customer's account is charged for web hosting. 
• You will also get a 20% discount on any subsequent websites you host with us. 
• The comissions are credited to your own hosting account.
• If you don't have a hosting account, just refer 5 people, and you will essentially be entitled to a free website.

Receiving Your Affiliate Rebates

• Rebates are credited to your web hosting statement
• If you earn more rebates than your own hosting fees, then you may use these 'credits' for domain names or other web design services from Web Widgets.
• You may also transfer your credits to another Web Widgets hosting customer.
• If a referred customer does not end up paying their invoices, then commissions on those invoices maybe reversed.
• Cash payments will be made only to GST registered businesses once their credit balance exceeding $100. The affiliate must provide us with a GST invoice for the amounts due.

How we track new referred customers

If you have an affiliate link on your website, this will usually take care of tracking the referred customer.

Many referrals are usually either made online or via word of mouth. If you have made a referral by word of mouth, please let us know as soon as the new customer has started their trial, or soon after they have gone live.

Our affiliate tracking code works well much of the time, but we cannot back-date rebates. To avoid disappointment, we advise you to notify our support staff the moment you know your referral(s) have made a start on their websites (if you can't see them already in your affiliate section) 

If you notify us after the referral website has gone live for some time, rebates will begin from the next anniversary date.

Discount / Rebate Table

Commission / rebate conditions:

• You must be a current web hosting customer of Web Widgets to qualify for a 20% rebate on referred customers.
• You are only entitled to receive rebates on your account once your website is live. However, you may link the referrals prior to making your website live. Once you have referred 5 live customers, your website hosting would be free.
• You will only get the 20% rebate on the referred customer's first website but not their subsequent sites. The referred customer will be entitled to a rebate of their own on any subsequent websites they host us. 
• If you have two websites on different hosting plans, the discount will be applied to the cheaper plan. If your referred customers are on a higher hosting plan, then the rebate will be calculated on the cheapest hosting plan(s).
• This rebate is calculated only on web hosting fees and does not apply to domain names, web design nor any other services.
• Rebates are calculated on the same date the referred customer is invoiced.
• Rebates will be reversed if the referred customer does not pay their invoice.

How to get started

When you create a new website for a customer or friend:

1. Login as yourself.
2. Once logged in, click the "Referrals" link on the bottom left menu.
3. Click the "Create A New Website" button.
4. Continue until you get to the contact details page, then enter your customer's email address and proceed.
5. You will be able to manage their account on their behalf via the resellers link while their website is under construction. You can continue to manage it later on if you set yourself up as an administrator in the security section of their website.
